I was just brushing my teeth and noticed the same damned thing. I looked on Mayo Clinic and saw that there is a bacteria related ailment accompanied by hair. I didn't have to shave my tongue. I was not satisfied with the description on MayoClinic and when I googled "black tongue" I found your defininition. Thanks. When my wife saw it I thought she was going to cry.
