…I’m remembering another Maurice Sendak classic: ‘Really Rosie.’ I used to watch this “movie” (in quotes because it was really only a 30 minute special on network TV a long time ago that I used to have on VHS as a kid). And I heard a snippet of “Chicken Soup With Rice” on The Today show this morning and I couldn’t get it out of my head. I have been watching YouTube clips of it all day and realizing that about (gasp!) about 15 years since the last time I’ve heard these songs, I still know every word. I loooove these songs, and I’m only learning now that Carole King wrote all the music.
So, here are the two songs that really really really I have been singing all day [WARNING: I can't find this anywhere with the sound synced up with the video. It's annoying, but try to pay attention to the music more than the visuals]:

I loved my 'Really Rosie' record! I still know all the words too. I also had the Nutshell Library http://www.amazon.com/Nutshell-Library-Caldecott-… books for all the songs and insisted on carry them around in my purse when I was 5.
