Recipe of the Day: Tagliatelle with Fresh Corn Pesto
I got this recipe from Epicurious via Bon Apetit. I basically had a shitton of corn and basil from my CSA and was looking for a recipe that would use most of it up. This recipe emerged I think when I searched “corn basil.” I was a little skeptical at first but we made it [...]
Blog of the Day: Catalog Living
I thought Otas would love this blog but apparently she just wants everything. I find them hilarious though….
Elaine wasn’t about to let some hot flashes get in the way of balancing the checkbook with the abacus.
Elaine was not amused by Gary’s passive-aggressive response to her request to “garnish the cocktails.
UPDATE:: so i thought the giant [...]

These herby cocktails look AMAZING

this museum has a 800 year old swiss army knife
The Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, UK has an ancient Roman swiss army knife dating to 200-300 AD in their collection (they’re calling it a “compound utensil”). My boss sent me this a few days ago and I thought it was a nerdy April fools joke but apparently it’s the real deal. Cool eh? You can [...]

You can search specific neighborhoods and addresses- this is where I live.
5 minute chocolate cake
My roommate showed me this on facebook last week and we’ve already made it a couple times. It sounds kinda gross but I can assure you that it’s amazing. We even tweaked the recipe and made an almond chocolate chip mug cake by substituting almond flour for the cocoa. As MugCake’s fan page says, [...]
google logos
Google has been in the news a lot recently about it’s brouhaha with China (i especially liked this article in the nyt http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/14/world/asia/14beijing.html?scp=1&sq=china%20google&st=cse – i think its awesome how internet access has become more or less a basic human right and cyber attacks are talked about as if they’re physical attacks) but here are [...]
Christmas mix for you!
I’m not usually a fan of holiday mixes or Christmas songs much but I’m totally digging this mix this morning while I get ready for work. It’s sustaining my holiday excitement so that I can get through work today, run home, finish packing and jump on a plane to the middle of the west. Hopefully [...]
